I’m Shema Kolainu, and I’ve been around since 1998. Growing up in NYC wasn’t easy, but I learned how to stay strong, keep going, and help other kids just like me.

Seeing them grow and knowing I made a difference is one of the best feelings in the world.

OUR FOUNDER

An accomplished educator, turned entrepreneur, Dr. Joshua Weinstein combined his educational and work background to create a unique school & center for autism. His vision and big heart led him to undertake this great challenge upon learning that children with autism can lead a better future when given the skills to do so. In 1998, Shema Kolainu - Hear Our Voices (SKHOV) was born. Dr. Weinstein founded the private, nonprofit school & center for autism one of the first schools for autism in the US.

OUR LEADERSHIP

Our leadership team consists of professionals with 30 years of combined practical experience. Their main goal is to help each student reach their full potential. They share their knowledge with the staff, guiding their actions and providing direction. This teamwork helps everyone stay focused, implement plans effectively, and consistently improve student outcomes.

OUR MISSION

To hear the voices of the children and families that we serve as they strive to achieve their full potential for independence, productivity, and inclusion in the community. The high standard and quality of care displayed by all of our staff is achieved through their expertise and ability to hear, and learn from, those who they serve.
