Ben is an adorable boy who started his journey at Shema Kolainu with delayed fine motor skills. After years of wearing Velcro shoes, he had finally built up his fine motor skills and was ready to wear shoes with laces and tie his shoes.

He used the bunny ears method, visual picture cards, and forward chaining techniques where he would master each part of the skill before moving on to the next part. Practice makes perfect, and with repetition on this very important daily skill, Ben can now independently tie his own shoes. He is able to generalize this skill to not only tie the sneakers he learned on, but can now tie laces on other shoes as well..
