When I started at SK, I was nonverbal, and unable to follow simple directions. After just one short year of ABA instruction, I learned to imitate, follow directions, communicate with an AAC device fluently and now I’m trying to speak out loud!

Did you know I mastered tying my shoes? So here is my story, I have trouble with my fine motor skills, so my SK therapist showed me how to use visual aids and repetition and now I'm able to independently tie various types of shoes all by myself.

​I didn't talk much at first, not because I don't have what to say... Now, with the help of SK staff I got much better at it, especially sounds like /s/ blends and /l/ words, and now I'm working on putting words together into sentences.
