Rachel

Rachel came to Shema Kolainu with extreme behaviors, stemming from communication deficits and sensory needs

Rachel came to Shema Kolainu with extreme behaviors, stemming from communication deficits and sensory needs. She would frequently attempt to bite herself and others, run away from adults, and have long meltdowns.

Within a few months of coming to SKHOV, Rachel was put on a sensory diet and learned to use sensory materials to help self-regulate. She also learned to communicate with an AAC device, and the change in Rachel is astronomical. She became a happy, regulated child that is able to follow a classroom routine and learn new skills.
